GENERAL POLICY FOR HEALTH, SAFETY & WELFARE AT WORK

 

In recognition of the Health and Safety at Work Act of 1974 and other legislation relating to Health and Safety, I, the sole trader, Monica Wells Photography, will take all reasonable measures, as far as practically possible and take full responsibility to ensure my health, safety and welfare and that of any photo subjects whilst at work.

 

Monica Wells Photography recognises that the control of all health and safety matters arising from my work activities is not only an essential feature of my efficient operation but is also a civil and statutory obligation. As the sole trader I am responsible and it is my policy to:

 

O Act within the framework of the law and good practice, safe and healthy working conditions, equipment and conditions of work, for myself, models, members of the public and others who are affected and working with Monica Wells Photography. I will work in a safe manner to prevent accidents to myself and others.

 

Monica Wells Photography takes the issue of Health and Safety extremely seriously. It is my intention to provide a safe working environment for myself and others by:

 

O Providing safe systems of work;

O When office based using safe office equipment;

O Using safe and well maintained camera and flash equipment;

O Working safely on location;

O Transporting myself and equipment safely;

O Providing adequate and sufficient information, instruction and advice to others.

 

Health and Safety remains the responsibility of Monica Wells Photography. My Health and Safety Policy complies with the current legal requirements and will be updated as appropriate to take accounts of future developments or changes in UK or EC legislation.

 

How I will deal with safety matters and the particular arrangements that will be made to implement this policy, are set out in my Health and Safety manual. It is my intention to achieve a healthy and safe working environment wherever that may be.

 

Monica Wells Photography undertakes to review this policy on a regular basis, and in the light of new knowledge, and changing legislation. This review will take place at a maximum of twelve months of the date shown below.

Environmental Policy

ENVIRONMENT POLICY 2018

 

Monica Wells Photography is an environmentally conscious photographer based in Kings Cross, central London, and working in London, the Home Counties and worldwide. I am committed to continual improvement and promoting best practice and recognise that the adoption of environmentally preferable business practices is an essential component for ensuring sustainable business growth. Working within my company and with clients I am committed to minimize the impact my business operations have on the environment.

 

My key objectives are to:

 

O Minimise waste and prevent pollution.

O Ensure that my clients are aware of my Environmental Policy and encourage them to adopt the same principles.

O Individually and in partnership with others, promote environmental information.

O Use sustainable resources wherever possible.

O Comply with all relevant environmental legislation, regulations and applicable codes of practice.

O Ensure that I continually review my environmental performance and improve it on an ongoing basis.

 

KEY STEPS FOR ACHIEVMENT – 2018

 

O Achieve a measurable reduction in office waste, recycle where possible;

O Purchase environmentally friendly and recycled products and local or fairtrade produce;

O Travel to location in as environmentally friendly a way as possible, using public transport, cycling or walking where possible and offsetting air travel;

O Act in the way with the least environmental impact when on location;

O Inform clients of my environmental policy and objectives;

O Review my policy and objectives regularly.

O Use accounting figures in the areas of energy, transport, stationery, printing, in order to set reduction targets to lessen the impact of their use.

O Provide photos on cds rather than prints, unless specifically required for display.

Quality Assurance Policy

 

Monica Wells Photography’s Quality Management system closely follows the guidelines of The Small Business Standard which is closely aligned to ISO 9001.2000

 

Monica Wells Photography is a freelance photographer established in 1988, based in London, with a variety of clients in the private and public sector; design and advertising agencies, publishers and London Councils. I am experienced in a range of fields; people, location, business, cities, architecture....examples can be seen on my website.

 

Quality is important to my business because I value my customers and clients. I strive to provide my clients with photography and a service which meet and even exceed their expectations. I am committed to continuous improvement and have established a Quality Management System which provides a framework for checking and improving my performance.

 

I have invested in the latest camera equipment and computer software, and kept up to date with training to support my policy of continuous improvement and client satisfaction.

 

Before, during and after carrying out a contract I constantly liaise with the client to ensure they are more than happy with the level of service and work carried out.

 

I have the following processes and procedures in place to ensure consistent delivery

a: Regular gathering and monitoring of customer feedback

b: Keeping up to date with the latest camera equipment, digital software, and current photographic styles,

c: Technical training and development where required for myself,

d: Risk assessments against each project

e: Dedicated project management for delivery.

I have the following processes and procedures in place to meet my policy of continuous improvement and customer satisfaction

a: Regular client reviews

b: Monitoring of customer complaints.

I provide clients with access to my quality policy via my website.


I, as Monica Wells Photography, am ultimately responsible for Quality, and will do my utmost to maintain very high standards.

Equal Opportunities Policy

 

Monica Wells Photography is a professional photography company, established in 1988 and based in Kings Cross, London.

 

Although operating as a sole trader at the moment I have an equal opportunities policy ready for the future, when my company expands and I am able to employ staff.

 

I will aim to encourage, value and manage diversity in all areas of my business and to be an equal opportunities employer. I will be committed to providing equality for all and will make a real effort to employ people that are representative of the local community by advertising widely, and by monitoring the ethnicity of job applicants and working to remove real or perceived barriers to under represented groups in society.

 

I do not accept discrimination on the grounds of gender, sex, marital status or gender re-assignment. Nor will I tolerate discrimination on the grounds of race, ethnic origin, colour, nationality, national origin, religion or belief, age or disability.

 

I will not tolerate victimisation, discrimination or harassment in any form and I will make it clear any instance will be investigated and could result in dismissal.

 

I believe that everyone should be treated fairly and on their own merit and ability. This policy will be the ethos of my selection procedure and applies to promotion and training and to dismissal and discipline. I will ensure that all my clients and suppliers understand my ethos and I will make it clear that fair treatment is expected for all and should be maintained.
